They say one man’s junk is another man’s treasure. There is no doubt that I am someone who sees the value in things that others cast aside as old, outmoded or corroded. In fact, it is a big inspiration for my mixed media work. In short, I am a bit of a dumpster-diver - constantly gathering old doodads - or "junque" as my family calls it - that will eventually find their way into my work. I love making boxes with doors revealing old maps, antique watch movements or a piece of faded sheet music. Layer that with a glaze of paint and, voila, suddenly there’s is a treasure right before you.
